helvetica marker

Combined, these people are the Einstein of our time. They brought us the Helvetica movie and now a marker that writes Helvetica. Genius.

I realized…or more like my husband diagnosed…that the reason I’m still not able to upload pictures to my blog is because I need to upgrade WordPress. Makes sense.
Because I’m not able to upload pictures, this means I get to spend more time working on my senior project, which I desperately need to do. I’m supposed to present next week with 50% of my exhibition finished, but as of 11:29pm, 9 days before I present, I’m searching for inspiration on abc.com. Right.
In order to have half of my project infinished in time to present, I need to completely roughly 40% within a few days.
Is this proof I work better under pressure? Let’s hope so.

Brainchild of Purpose, a design firm in the UK.
“For their first Christmas, newly established printers Greenford Printing wanted a memorable way to promote their business and at the same time wish their valued clients a ‘Merry Christmas and Happy New Year’.
By building on the familiar language of colour specification, Pantone swatches initiated the main theme for our concept. ‘Panettone’ createda colourful twist on the traditional Italian Christmas cake.
The Panettone boxes arrive as a set of 5, featuring special dates from Christmas Eve to New Years Day, each one representing a different pantone colour.
A big hit in the 2007 McNaughton Review, the design was Joint Winner in the Direct/Promotional category and Highly Commended in Packaging.”

As so many other things in this world; pure genius. Designed by Yurko Gutsulyak from the Ukraine.

This morning I ran across the website of Baron & Baron, Inc., a NY-based design firm who focuses on the fashion industry.
I’ve always had a soft spot for the world of fashion. I drool (usually while no one is watching) over the high contrast photos of rake-thin models in couture, the understated logos of designers such as Burberry and Dolce & Gabbana, and the ridiculously large, typographical editorial layouts.
I think Baron & Baron is my new dream place to work. (…plus they have one of the best Flash intros I have ever seen)
