You're experiencing a first ladies and gentlemen - I've decided to create a few goals for 2010. At some point, I read that people who write down their goals, are 33% more successful in accomplishing their goals than those who simply formulate them. So, for the first time in my life, I'm creating an official list of goals for the year. None of these are lofty goals, but I figure you have to start somewhere. 1. Participate in Smashing Magazine's A Design a (Work)Day Challenge
2. Finish my portfolio website (it's been down for a year)
3. Apply for grad school
As a side note I have several new projects that desperately need to be photographed and put online. However, since my portfolio site is still in the "Coming Soon" stages, I have two Christmas projects to share.
1. I participated in the Brooklyn Bride Blog Handmade Christmas Card Swap this year. It was fun to receive beautiful cards from all over (from as far as the UK), and I had a blast making the cards I sent out (below). I sent out 6 cards and they either said Peace, Love, or Joy on them.
2. Working at a software and web design firm, I don't often have the chance to design for print. I've never denied my love for paper and the smell of ink, so I jump at the change to design Aptera's Christmas Card every year. This year I found wood textured paper with the help of my friends a RIS Paper and created a Christmas tree using words that describe the services Aptera offers and Christmas icons. Printing was done by Courier Printing in Grabill, Indiana.
