Arriving in NYC, leaving JFK.
Feet Portraits My Feet series will introduce you to the places my feet go and other feet they meet. Some people take pictures of food. I take pictures of feet. There’s more to come. Enjoy.

Trapped on the 29th floor with Typography Sketchbook. Not bad.

Waiting on a burrito at Puerto Alegre in the Mission.
We spent most of last week on the east coast with my husband's family. We hadn't seen them since December last year, so it was fun to catch up and spend time playing with our adorable niece and nephews. My sister-in-law is a phenomenal photographer (check out her work here) so it's no surprise that we've got great photos from the trip. Photo Credit: Patch36
I'm sure it's no coincidence that I've got more than one photo against a blue background, since it happens to be one of my favorite colors. There isn't much that doesn't look good against blue.
Feet On the Hudson River Ferry from NYC to New Jersey
While most of our week was split between New Jersey, Maryland, and Pennsylvania, it was fun spend a few hours in NYC and even meet up with a friend. I also realized that while I love the quaint, laid-back vibe of San Francisco, I also kind of love the gritty, fast-paced thrill that is New York City.
Feet on the Porch. San Francisco feet enjoy 90+ °F temperatures. No seriously
As you may have guessed, there's more feet to come. I enjoy giving context and meaning to all of my feet photos, but there may need to be a feet dump soon. You won't mind, right?

I love public transportation. Yes it’s dirty and unreliable, but the true gems of public transit are the people. Recently, I started cataloguing some of the amazing things I overhear. Its fun already, isn't it? As I sat in the (very public) Minneapolis-St Paul airport waiting on a flight to LA, I felt like there couldn't be a more appropriate place to post my third installment of Things I Hear on Muni. Unfortunately, the free wifi didn't agree.
"I'm gon' make me some key earrings!" exclaimed a woman who gleefully discovered a set of lost keys.

While I'm certainly not the first person to document feet (see this gorgeous project) it has been fun to see how it's inspired other people to start posting their own feet pictures. Nick posted a shot of his bare feet walking down the Travertines while in Hierapolis, Turkey, and Laura shared photos of her equally bare, but blistered feet from the Harbourfront beaches in Toronto.
Yesterday, my cousin sent me pictures from the Kansas City Color Run that he, his wife, and some of their friends participated in on Saturday. I must admit this shot makes me slightly jealous because my husband and I will be missing the San Francisco Color Run in a couple of weeks.
This is your feet on color. At the Kansas City Color Run.
This morning, along with two of our friends, Vince and I participated in the Golden Gate Polo Fields 5K. The weather was cool and slightly foggy — as San Francisco is this time of year — but that only added a magical feel to the gorgeous, wooded course.
Running with friends, not scissors.
We'll be heading to the East Coast to visit family this week. I'm looking forward to having some fun feet shots to post from our time there!
This is what happens when you ask your siblings to describe you in one word.
