RRR 001
So excited about an impulse purchase I made last week that arrived just today. It's a limited edition book called RRR 001 - A Collection of Recycled Art By and International Group of Talented Friends. The designer is Scott Massey and co-designer is Jonathan Sandridge. The inside cover says:
We make waste for a living. So now we're gonna to make waste live. With a very short deadline a number of international artists and photographers were asked to act and respond. Look around your environment, see what you can save, pick it up, turn it over, and look at it in a different way.
I love this book already - I can tell it's going to be something I reference often.
iSetta
I could hardly contain myself when I found this delicious photo rendering posted on pica + pixel this evening. It's even better than the Smart car (which I makes me drool every time I see one).
Here's what they had to say:
"BMW just announced the new iSetta, a two-seater electric city car. Its designed was inspired by the original Isetta from the 50s. This new model ss still in the concept phases and has not passed all its crash testing so the design will probably change but there has clearly been efforts to maintain the look-and-feel made famous with the original. Plans are to have it available for sale to the public by 2010."
Forget reserving a Smart car. iSetta, here I come!
going greener.
We get closer and closer all the time. We've finally abandoned all "non-green" cleaning supplies. It feels good. This time, it even smells good. It's called Simple Green and it's a multi-purpose household cleaner.
Thanks to the Home Depot on Lake that is going out of business, we bought three clay pots, a couple of large bags of organic compost and planted some herbs and flowers for our balcony. I can't wait to see the tiny sprouts start peeking out in a few weeks.
One of my absolute favorite green companies is ::method::. Kuddos to them for making cleaning your house green and fun. Method has gained popularity not just through their green status; they've also won tons of recognition because of their packaging. Yum!
simple shoes
This morning my husband found a great company online called Simple Shoes. The shoes they produce are completely sustainable and made out of things like recycled tires, PET plastics, hemp and 100% cotton.
Each page contains clever sayings such as "ecoSneaks have all of that sneakery stuff you like plus they've been smothered in sustainable goodness." and "Why buy carbon offsets when you can change your ways for free?".
Now if they would just come out with some shoes with heals....
